LOIDI
Somewhere over the rainbow there is this colourful store full of pep and confetti where you can find many treasures.
The place that makes you stop to admire its singular character. Its great decoration, tasty and brave selection of clothes and accessories mirror the personality of its owner.
I get into Casa Loidi and Judith welcomes me with an amazing smile. This warm and enthusiastic person is also one of the kind designer and businesswomen.
After taking a deep look into her store and getting excited about all wonderful pieces I had a chance to talk with Judith about her story.
As a designer she started her brand LOIDI about 5 years ago. LOIDI’s singular character – today recognized from far by bold colors, retro cuts, transparency, and prints, has been changing a lot over the years. Her first collection was minimalistic, she used bleu marine tones, in “worker” simple cuts. Those lasts are the only part that stayed.
Judith is extremely creative and visionary when it comes to designing, the sketches are drawn in her head and from there she begins the search for fabrics. Sometimes the inspiration can come in the sense inverse – she sees an interesting fabric and the story of love begins.
Although sustainability has not been the primary objective, Judith admits that it has been incorporated naturally into her way of being and lifestyle through simple and responsible actions such as conscious consumption, buying second-hand clothes and fabrics, the focus and attention that she dedicates to the making of each of his garments. Its collections are characterized by unique and limited pieces of different textures, a variety of colors and finishing details in which Judith's own hands can be perceived.
CASA LOIDI
Today LOIDI’s singular style is reenforced by other brands that makes part of creative concept store CASA LOIDI founded by Judith a year and a half ago. Opening of her store was a big leap for the brand, the idea was to present local designers that have similar aesthetic, interesting fresh design and responsible, ethical production.
Some of them are Studio Fantastique, Tabata Pardo Ruiz and Daniela, Claudia Carbajal, Juanma by el Cuco, Atelier Batac, Poetes, and many others.
CHALLENGES
Among the challenges Judith mentions as a multi-tasking entrepreneur she is responsible for all steps: she is in charge to make the design and cut of the fabrics, selection of brands for the store, ensuring quality and sustainability, marketing, sells, relationship with her customers (both online and in Casa Loidi). These daily challenges bring her a lot of work but also motivation when the results of all the effort show its fruits.
I encourage you to visit this space with an aesthetic and bold vision, colorful and harmonious at the same time. I am sure you won't leave without a garment that hits you and touches your heart!
